In this article we’re specifically going to talk about the all-natural way to remove pet odors and stains from your carpet, fabric, or upholstery.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- 2 towels (paper towels could work as well)
- Water and vinegar mixture (we recommend equal parts water and vinegar. You can even keep a mixture in a spray bottle so it’s always ready)
- Baking Soda
Step 1:
Once you notice the urine stain, blot it as dry as possible with a towel or several paper towels. Be sure not to rub the stain, and to blot instead.
Once the urine stain is blotted close to dry, spray the water/vinegar mixture onto the stain. 3-5 sprays should be plenty.
Scrub the mixture into the carpet with another towel. It’s important to scrub it deep into the carpet fibers, and not just on the surface.
Step 2:
After scrubbing the stain with the water and vinegar mixture, it’s now time to apply the baking soda.
Sprinkle a couple teaspoons of baking soda onto the stain and rub the baking soda into the carpet fibers with a towel or fingers.
Wait for the spot to dry, this could take a day or so.
Step 3:
Vacuum the area only when it’s completely dry. The stain and odor should now be gone.
